Psychometry services

Psychometry Services offers a variety of psychometric assessments to hospitals, individuals, schools, companies and professional practices. The team consists of a psychometrist assisted by a clinical and counselling psychologist. Psychometry Services believe that assessments help to provide guidance, focus and information with regards to improving lives and problem areas for patients and clients.

Pain Network East Rand (PANER)

The GMPP has started a virtual pain clinic bringing together experts with a special interest in the management of chronic pain. The aim is to address the fact that patients with chronic pain syndromes are often misdiagnosed and then not appropriately treated.

Chronic pain syndromes are categorised in three main groups:

1. Functional pain (75% of patients)
2. Nociceptive pain (30% of patients)
3. Neuropathic pain (20% of patients)

There is some overlap as some patients present with a combination of these syndromes. Patients who present with chronic pain are managed by a multidisciplinary team including general practitioners, psychiatrists, psychologists, neurologists, and allied health professionals.

Substance Abuse Network South Africa (SANSA)

SANSA is a structured outpatient treatment programme underpinned by evidence based medicine. It keeps the patient functioning at work and at home while in treatment, thereby maintaining productivity. It will reduce the revolving door syndrome and its cost implications.
